About

I began working in the tree industry over 15 years ago, starting as a climbing arborist, and progressing to a professionally qualified surveyor and consultant. My years 'on the tools' has given me an advanced understanding of trees and their response to differing management methods, diseases and defects. My aim is to provide a pragmatic and reliable service, whilst maintaining a safe and attractive treescape.

Black Mountains Tree Consultancy provides a range of services, from advice for homeowners on single tree hazard assessment, to larger scale site surveys associated with planning and development.

Experience & Training

I began my training at Merrist Wood College (Guildford) in 2008, learning the basics of climbing with a rope and harness, tree biology, soil science and plant health care. From there I progressed with my studies at Moreton Morrell Agricultural College near Warwick, where I completed the Royal Forestry Society's Certificate in Arboriculture. Later, in 2016, I completed the LANTRA Professional Tree Inspectors course.

I have attended numerous other courses and seminars, all of which help me stay current with the constantly evolving science and practice of arboriculture.
